Journalism

In Journalism we have practical and theoretical courses. In the year that I’m coursing now, which is the second, we have to study Radio, Report, Audiovisual Language, Cultural Studies and Interpersonal Communication, along with elective courses. In the first and the rest of them, the structure maintains almost the same.

By now, the career last five years, but if you take a specialty, it may last six or seven years. The workload intensifies with the years, but in the second semester of first year the practical work start, and it includes going to some place to reporting, make interviews and taking the place of a real journalist. With this, the workload becomes a little bit heavier, because apart from the practical courses, you have to study for the theoretical ones too.

If you choose to study Journalism in University of Chile, you’ll go to Juan Gomez Millas to the faculty called ICEI, that stands for Institute of Communication and Image, where Film Studies and Journalism are.
The place is always in construction, because they are building others faculties, but it still conserves the air of revolution and history that characterize this Uni. Maybe it has lost a lot of green areas, but if you go to Calama or the patio area of Arts, you can enjoy and relax being close to the nature.

All Uni have U-cursos as it’s platforms of studies. You can send tasks, see what the teacher uploaded, your grades and attendance, and in U-campus you can take the courses for the next semester
